The second release on our new label and we've drafted in the vocal talents of Brighton hip hop supremo koaste (Check his wicked blog the273.com!) and super sweet soul songstress Farrah to create 'Get Next To You'. Packed full of funk horns, shimmering synths and neck-snapping hip hop beats the single's been getting some high praise so far - including being DJ Mag's Moneyshot release with a whopping 9/10!

Add to this bass music's biggest outfit Tomb Crew on the remix with a big jungle breaks banger that rocked when we caught the lads smashing Secret Graden Party this year. And if that wasn't quite enough we turned in our own 'Club Mix' to keep the bassline faithful happy!

Right. We're back! We've got a new label - 'Corrupt Music' and our first release called 'One Step Forward EP' is dropping 20th June 2011. There's four brand new tracks on it ranging from the soul-soaked sub of 'Keep The Faith' through to the dancehall rudeness of 'Get Cultured'. All this via the solid 2 step snappiness of 'Punks' and the warehouse raving of 'Hancienda'. It's been a while coming but we've got some wicked stuff coming up. The second release is shaping up to be really strong and we'll be putting out some free favourites from this site too, plus some new material.

Our first Half Hour Hype Mix was thirty minutes crammed full of different genres all mixed, mashed and mangled in a cut and paste style that showcased our DJ sets. Not wanting to become predictable the second is a production showcase of our old and brand spanking new tracks and exclusives. There's a slightly more mature approach to the mix but rest assured it's still as rude as a Rooney celebration!

Featured in the mix are two new ReRubs that you can get your grubby little paws on - see below to download from the soundcloud players. We've given Redlight and Rye Rye a reworking and the results are finding favour with a range of big hitters;

Got some amazing press this month in the run up to the new EP release so a massive thankyou to Carl Loben @ DJ Magazine and Dave Jenkins @ IDJ. The rerelease of "A Good Look" featuring our new 2011 refix received a very commendable 8/10 from DJ Mag. Featuring remixes from the original package, check reworks by Atomic Hooligan, Stupid Fresh, Jack Bluff and LLB HERE Great to be included in an IDJ first timer special as well. Seeing your name on a front cover is  definitely something to remember and sharing it with the likes of Stanton Warriors, Jamie XX and Featurecast is something else so thanks again to everyone involved.

There was a time when you could count the quality festivals in this country on one hand. Times have changed. The DIY ethic mixed with a healthy dose of professionalism has seen a massive rise in small to medium sized festivals over the last couple of years. Not only are they usually a whole lot cheaper than many of their bigger counterparts but they somehow manage to retain that "something special" that seems to be indicative to the ones that really standout. One of the most promising noobs for this year is the Friends of Mine festival in Cheshire. We have just been added to the line up along The Correspondents and our very own Catch 23. Travelling. That's what this game's really about. March 12th will see us staggering around the Parisian streets generally lowering the tone of the place. We'll be bringing some of the filthiest UK bass music to the French capital and be testing out the hot new EP that's dropping soon on our own Corrupt Music. There's a stack of incoming gigs to keep you posted about too so watch this space. Time to go dust off the translation book and get those GCSE textbooks out again - deux bieres s'il vous plait!

We've always been huge fans of Catskills since back in the days of playing big beat in Brighton bars. So when head honch Johnny Reggae asked us to do a remix we were obviously pretty keen. Husky rescue are a Finnish outfit who offer sublime Scandinavian soundscapes and strong yet haunting melodies. We kept that stripped back feel to the remix but added a touch of rudeness to leave a skippy and deep garage roller. The package also features Black Grass and Son Of Kick who both turn in wicked interpretations. Out soon on Catskills.

This Staurday sees a pretty hefty line up take over London's new 'pop-up' club Counter Culture. With acts, including ourselves, handpicked by the legendary Krafty Kuts it looks to be shaping up like a stellar night. Being the charitable souls we are we have signed up to play not one but two Oxjam events. The first is this Saturday a Christchurch Canterbury's SU bar, the second will be at The Barn in Portsmouth on 10th December. Oxjam puts on numerous music event of all sizes and raises money for Oxfam, whose mission is to fight poverty worldwide. It has been on the go since 2006 and has so far put on more than 3,000 of these individual events. So why not inject your evening with a dose of smug and have a night out for a good cause?

We return to the south coast brandishing fresh tracks, a brand new scratch mixer and a very special guest in the form of Brighton bad man Koaste. The Horse and Groom has quickly become part of our regular calender since we first darkened it's doors some 18 months back.  Tucked away at the far end of Curtain road the venue is testament to not judging a book by its cover. With a relaxed atmosphere and mood lighting to suit you could be fooled in to thinking this is your average Hoxton boozer. To the more discerning punter however the Horse is a venue to be reckoned and generally descends into chaos sometime after 1am. We'll be there this Saturday along side the Glue fraternity enjoying an old fashioned game of who's got the biggest bass line. So come on down if you think you're hard enough!

Christ. What a week. Massive props to DT for all the support. They caught us at Secret Garden Party and branded us 'the reborn Scratch Perverts'. Big praise, and a lot to live up to. They have some of the world's biggest names amongst previous contributors so we we're really pleased to be thought of amongst such rich company. Wow. Wasn't expecting the Chai Wallah's stage to be quite so hectic on the Thursday night but it was. 2000 young trendy kids raving hard in their Ferris Bueller shades and asymmetrical haircuts. Playing alongside Parker and Featurecast we definitely represented the filthier end of the spectrum but the whole tent was open minded and bounced around to everything from classic hip hop to UK garage. We were absolutely shit-faced too which is why some of the camera work may be a bit wonky. Here's us dropping Micky Finn's ridiculously aggressive 'Mad Dog'...

Well it was a real honour to be asked to put together 3 minutes of music to celebrate the legendary Annie Nightingale's 40 years on the BBC, and to top it off she only went and opened the show with it! The brief was 'blue sky thinking' which wasn't a lot of help so we ripped up Vera Lynn's classic 'A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square' and glitched it up over a bass soaked hip hop beat. Not content with that we hooked up with Brighton rap star Koaste to get some Annie-centric vocals on top. He nailed it - and we'll definitely be doing some more work with him. After a stellar couple of gigs at the Drop Off Sessions we were stoked to be asked to be residents. Its a wicked little venue that would have been called a 'pub club' before that became a dirty term. Packed with a mixture of wronguns, as East London often is, it's always gone off in there. This time we're back with the one and only Tomb Crew who we met a while ago when we first started getting gigs. They blew us away then and pretty much everytime we've seen them since. We'll be looking to have a good ol' fashioned bass-off! Gloves off. There's a host of other wicked DJs too including Whistla who's remix of our first single Darsh is still getting a caining in the studio, in the car and even in the kitchen. Looking forward to seeing The Living Graham Bond who has pricked a few ears so keen to see what the hype is about. Bang tidy. Get yourself down, this be the Facebook Event...
